Tips on creating a productive study space
In today’s blog post I will be discussing some tips for how you can create a study environment you can be productive and calm in when doing your work.
Firstly, it is important to designate yourself a study space
where you know you will work best and be comfortable in. I find I study best in my bedroom, and assign my desk
as my designated study space. Other good study spaces could be in your kitchen, library or a coffee shop. For recommendations for some of the best coffee shops to study in within Glasgow check out one of my recent blog posts. Most of my tips in this post, apply to when your study space is
in your own home, as you can customize this space more freely.
Plants
There are many benefits of having plants in your study space, for instance it has been found that plants can help in reducing work-related anxiety and stress. Plants can also help improve air quality, some plants which are notable for improving air quality include: English Ivy, Spider plants and Aloe Vera (Prattey and Walden, 2021).
Diffuser
In the space you are working, you want the air around you be good quality and it’s also a bonus if the air smells good too. Having a diffuser is a great way to purify the air, there’s so many different essential oils you can buy, each smelling different and producing different benefits. You can find the diffuser I use here. In addition, my favourite essential oil to use in my diffuser is Blush and Peony
Noise-cancelling headphones
I personally work best in a quiet environment. To ensure my study space is quiet, I use noise-cancelling headphones, mine are from Anker.. I sometimes listen to music when studying and my headphones ensure I can concentrate and not get distracted by any background noise.
